About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To write a great life story.

ABOUT ME

I'm a half German, half Portuguese American with curly hair and a ready smile.

I laugh ALOT, so much so that my good friend Kyle wrote me a letter when I lived in Korea detailing all of the places I shouldn't laugh if I didn't want people to think I was crazy. Of course I used it as a check list :)

Right now I've living in sunny Venice Beach California and working at a film distribution company that offers a lovely view of the Hollywood sign in the distance and a birds eye view of the LACMA, one of Los Angeles' wonderful Art Museums.

I try to live life on the edge of my seat so when ever life starts to get too comfortable I feel like I've gotta leap on a challenge.

This December and January my brother, Marc, and I are embarking on a six week cycling tour of New Zealand. [SO EXCITED] I've never been to New Zealand and must admit that my knowledge of the country consists of Lord of the Rings, Flight of the Conchords and the fact that 4 out of the 5 New Zealanders I've met have been named Tim. Wish us Luck!

PHILOSOPHY

Time is the only truly precious commodity. It's finite for everyone and no body ever knows how much of it they've got.

So take advantage of opportunities for adventure. Then, when the time for reflection arrives, you can look back and grin like a fool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always love the variety of people I meet through this website

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed anyone's couch yet but I try to join couch surfing meet ups in the cities I travel too. Several years ago while I was backpacking through Prague I was drinking at a "Pour your own pint" style bar with two girls I had met on a free walking tour of the city. We'd only managed to put away one beer when a group of 6 guys and girls approached our table and asked to join us. As it turned out one of the guys was hosting the other five couchsurfers!

Interests

I LOVE stories and I'll take them anyway I can get them, from movies, television, books, radio dramas, and especially conversations.

I read quite a lot and just about anything, biographies, memoirs, history, myths, legends, philosophy, fiction, mysteries and crime dramas. Bookstores are my second home :)

Boxing! It's an interest I picked up quite accidentally whilst living abroad in South Korea and now I love it so much I work part time at a boxing gym!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Several years ago I biked the Donau River in Southern Germany, was struck my lightning and stumbled across the Neuberg Schloss fest with my brother, Marc. A bicycle repair shop owner whom we met when Marc's bike chain kept "ghost shifting" graciously allowed us to spend the night at his home, gave us a key to his house, and sent us into the heart of an authentic renaissance festival.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know an awful lot about film and film history which also makes me fairly knowledgeable about American history from 1850-1950s.

I can teach you how to make jam! My dad and I make loads of jam from the fruit we get from our trees - Apricot, Plum and sometimes lemon!

Also, if you'd like to learn a few boxing moves I'd be happy to accommodate!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let's swap stories over a game of cards, pretend to be tourists together and do some cooking!
