ABOUT ME

Never know what to put here... Let's start from the beginning I guess. I'm a Québécoise or Canadian francophile. Don't yawn at the sound of Canada. Far from being a Canadian nationalist, I've grown to love its genuine identity and overwhelming space. Nationality... that was the easy part... I guess I could go on with the things I love, that describes you well I'd say. I love music, I lack the talent to play but it is something I admire greatly in others. I'm a book-lover, reading them, flicking through them. I think I love the inert object as much as I like the story itself. I like photography... I'm in no way an expert, I don't know who's who in this area and I'm not a photograph myself but I feel myself drawn to it... I've always told myself I'd get around learning how those reflex cameras work and actually start taking photos myself... someday I guess. Well I guess that's it... so many other things I could have written here and I guess this represents how I feel today, tomorrow might be a completly different thing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to CS in Bolivia during my search for a flat in La Paz. Thanks to CS I found a great roomate and got to hang out with the little expat community of La Paz. A great summer it was and we hosted plenty of people from all over the world... Then I got to experience the other side of CS as great people welcomed me in their homes while I was touring Europe. Since then I'm back in school and I've put CS aside for a little while... but it's still there in the back of my head. I have so many great experiences associated with CS and I know I'll eventually come back to it, sooner or later the fish is always drawn back to the sea!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like folk/indie music like but my teenager's years sometimes bring me back to the Violent Femmes or the Pixies. As for movies, my geeky side loves Lord of the Rings, my romantic side likes Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulin and to switch my brain off a good oldschool Eddie Murphy or John Candy! For old-fashionned entertainment I like anything written by Jon Krakauer, Guillaume Vigneault, Tonino Benacquista, Hemingway, and Jan Morris, the greatest traveling writer of all times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in a caiman-filled lake in Amazonia! I didn't stay long though!!!
