ABOUT ME
I like to live life and enjoy the experience of whatever life throws my way. When I travel I usually find that the journey is at least equally enjoyable as the destination, if not more so. This is one reason that I enjoy Couchsurfing, because I can live for a few days with a local and experience a place for what it really is rather than just observing it from the outside as a tourist usually does. People tell me I'm quiet and serious and yet fun and silly... I guess that is true, but if we meet you can decide for yourself...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love traveling and am a strong believer in the ability of travel to instill good character and awareness in individuals and diplomacy and understanding among peoples. When I travel I always try to learn about the language, culture, and lifestyle of the local people, rather than exclusively "sightseeing." I appreciate the time and effort so many good people have spent to help me or show me around, and I would like to be able to return the favor.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far most of my traveling has been solo and I've ended up meeting a lot of people that way. Other than at dropzones in the US and France, where there are usually couches to crash on or people to take me in, or when I'm camping, I usually stay at hostels when I travel. I guess you could say I went "tent-surfing" on Mt. Olympus in Greece, when my friend and I were stuck in the rain at night far from the nearest lodge and with no tent of our own and we were lucky enough to find two others who had a tent to share... and I spent an interesting night on a couch in a small town in Morocco... Through the Couchsurfing website I've hosted quite a few people in Houston and I've been hosted in a various areas of the world, including New Orleans, Ireland, and Madagascar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I became a "regular" at a roadside coffee and 'mofo gasy' stall in Antananarivo and a young woman who worked there invited me to her house to chat.
