ABOUT ME

Vanessa - I am energetic and have a great sense of humour. Up for trying new things and meeting new people. I love a good party, but also love seeing new sights and living in a variety of ways. How can you know about anything usless you try it. Love optimism and believe that a place is characterised by the people that inhabit it and their input, history and culture.
Jessica - a sweet American Southerner with a big smile and a bigger heart, I'm like a good ol' country song - smooth and easy-going. Despite first appearances, I run deeper than the Mississippi, and will often find myself carried away by the current of the moment. Like a good cowgirl however, I will always round everyone up at the end of the night and never let anyone go astray. Perhaps the most level-headed of the trio, I enjoy galloping across the prairies as much as telling stories around the camp-fire.
Tanyella - I would describe myself as a fiery character around people I feel comfortable with, and passionately discussing and arguing deep into the night about all the problems of the world is one of my favourite past-times. Not one to sit on my arse however, my travels have taken me all around the world and back again and have made me the tolerant and accepting person that I am. Like my trusty friends, I'm always up for a good time, and can't wait to loose myself in the nooks and crannies of the streets of Amserdam!

PHILOSOPHY

Independence is highly valued amongst the trio. Our personalities do not merge into a homogenous whole, but rather the time we spend together brings out the strengths and sharpens the contrasts of our characters. Each of us is valuable for different reasons, and our friendship has grown from this common belief. We reckon others not by invariable social norms, but by the strength of their convictions and the beauty of their flaws and shortcomings as they strive towards them. We depend on each other to provide a warm hug on a cold night, to rescue us from our fears (mainly insects), and as female role models of a most magnificent kind.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is our first delve into the couch-surfing community as we know other hosters and surfers and are keen to get an idea of what it is all about. We would definitely consider hosting others once we get our own digs. Viva CS2!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None at the moment, but we are very enthusiastic about this sort of networking.

Musica, film e libri

Tastes vary, but we will watch anything if we are bored, don't quiz us on pop music, and most of the books we read are about "other" cultures and how cool they are.

Its a long list. Invite us to your couch and we may tell you some of them....we have to leave some things undiscovered.
