Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have attended a few Couch Surfing parties and have had a great time getting to know new people. I hope to be more involved in monthly gatherings and eventually host and surf across Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy historical books and movies. I just finished reading "A Voice in the Wind" by Francine Rivers. One of the characters is a Christian slave who continues to serve her Roman masters well and faces lions with courage.

Other Books--The Bible, Let the Children Come by Amy Carmichael, On the Devil's Doorstep, The Pillars of the Earth, anything by Ravi Zacharias, anything by Elisabeth Elliot

Music--I like a variety of music including: U2, Sting, contemporary Christian, Jazz, 80s (of course!), some classical/alternative/pop, various world music-i.e. Celtic, Tribal, Peruvian Andes, Native American (Brule)

Movies--Out of Africa, Iron Jawed Angels, Indiana Jones (ALL--including "The Young Indiana Jones"), The Mummy/Mummy Returns, Inn of the Sixth Happiness

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the awesome wonders of the African plains in the Maasai Mara. I stayed in a Maasai village, escaped from a lion, avoided the advances of Maasai warriors, refused the invitation to be circumcised, told Kenyan poaching patrolmen that they were not welcome to the gifts for the villagers and have personally seen God work in my life time and time again, though I don't deserve it.
