About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Brining the world into my living room while i prepare for my own world travels

ABOUT ME

I'm an Aussie who can't seem to leave New Zealand. I love it here for it's wild lands on the doorstep and back water ambience. people and the bush/mountains/rocks are quite speicial. I just want many experiences and to progress with my attitudes and philosophy's. I'm also all about dispelling the mundanity, which is why i've had so many jobs and change my home town every year. I cannot hold down a 9 to 5 but rather work longer hours with longer weekends...weeks and weeks that is. Travel has been on my mind for a long time, but for years has consisted of exploring the South Island and crossing the tasman to visit Australians. I feed off postitive people, love quirks and am generally level headed. I'm a dreamer and in love.

PHILOSOPHY

'I believe in nothing, everything is possible
I believe in everything, nothing is possible'
-Tom Robbins 'Jitterbug perfume'

reality is for those with no imagination
your landscape is your creation

I'm a vegetarian of many years

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have only registered and will be sussing out the goings on when i get the chance. I'd love to meet up with other chchins and find out more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only once in dunedin when a friend had couch surfers stay at his house and i came accross them in the evening. They were very contrasting people and i loved the idea of having a bridge between such different cultures.

Interests

Landscapes, natural and man made and the direct realtionship between the two. Remoteness and crowds. the parodies of life. Travelling self propelled, the simplicity of movement. Rocks, ropes and heights. Dreams and dream landscapes. Music and Food! South America, maps and possibilities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading 'Llamas and Empenadas' by eleanor Meecham, a wellingtonian who tells of her solo bike tour of South America. Now listening to the Cure. Slowing acquiring old records (latest ones, beatles rubber sole, weather report and magazine) and a fortnight ago watched 'An inconvienient truth' and 'goodbye pork pie' (a new zealand 70's classic)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ridge traverse in the Arrowsith Mountains, New Zealand. Multiday tramps in the NZ wilderness. I was amazed (not amazing)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share knowledge of the New Zealand outdoors and travelling within it. Knowledge of Rock Climbing, and perhaps teach some sport climbing. I can share music and conversation over a quiet drink in front of an open fire. I can share healthy vegetarian meals.
