About Me
My name is Mari and I'm 29. I'm temporarily back in my home country after a couple of years in Sweden and Denmark. Took an education but now I just want to journey and focus on goodness. So I'm probably on the go again quite soon, and I'm excited about what's up ahead.
I like to take my time, I like to be alone, and I like good company. I like singing. Singing was my education and I love it, but now it's mostly my bathroom walls listening to me. I love listening to other people singing. I love singing together.
I like listening. I like swimming in the sea, dancing, watching people. I'm pretty much in love with this life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had numerous great experiences, surfing and hosting people all over the world, all of them wonderful in different ways. I love how it helps us spread goodness on this planet, how we get to treat some one well and never meet them again, knowing that that goodness is gonna spread to yet another and another and another.
Most wacky hosting experience: Two years ago I was living in Sankthanshaugen, Oslo, and my roommate T was a member of the couch surfer community without my knowing. Some work was being done to the windows and there was a big scaffold covering the walls of our appartment building.
We were living on the third floor, it was 22.00 in the evening and I was home alone cooking dinner in the kitchen. Suddenly I heard a knock on the window, which I had my back to. I totally froze. I've always been scared of the dark outside windows, of someone looking at me from the outside. I thought; "this must be imagination playing tricks on me, I'm in the freaking third floor!" but I still got scared and run in to the livingroom. As I stood there I heard it again: knock knock knock.
It was clear; there was someone outside my window. With my heart pounding I slowly went back to the kitchen and looked outside. And just as I feared, there was a guy outside my window!
He was smiling, and he looked rather small and harmless, so I asked him what the hell he was doing there. It turned out he was from New Zealand, he was supposed to sleep on our couch (still without my knowing)and he hadn't been able to reach T. I let him in, we had tea and it was very nice, later T came home and we all went out exploring.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything that moves me. Spotify Premium is great. Films that I've really gotten a kick out of are American Beauty, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain. Lately I really liked The Fault in our Stars and Blue Planet. I gotta love Girls, Weeds and Modern Family. Some of my favourite authors are Arundhati Roy, Orhan Pamuk, Haruki Murakami, Paulo Coelho and lots of Norwegian writers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
You can find some of my own music online, there's some nice stuff and some really embarrassing stuff, thanks to Youtube recording all my growing pains and pleasures, but the best way to hear me is in your living room.
