CURRENT MISSION

I have a couch and 3 empty bedrooms, in a location many folks like to visit, I also like to travel. so this makes sense to me. Yesterday a Mama moose and her new baby woke me up! What a nature show right in my backyard!

ABOUT ME

I learned 2 important things in college: college is mostly BS and I have a really low tolerance for BS. I quit school and followed my heart to Alaska, of course there was a man there. We married and have raised 3 wonderful kids. They are all grown up now. We were married 34 years. We built a house and a business together. I am currently working part time in a nursing home, which provides on the job training for my next apparent mission: caregiver to 2 aging parents in their 80's. I love to travel and I love where I live and think the tourists here get a shoddy deal going from one 'multinational tourist orginization'( How do you spell Princess?) owned hotel/ transportation/ attraction to the next, missing the most wonderful things about Fairbanks. This is a great place to live or visit, any time of the year. Winter is especially fun here. Snow comes in October and stays until April. None of that messy slushy stuff! I enjoy people, I love to travel and look forward to sharing my couch. In my spare time I love to quilt and knit and read.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is good! I try to live it to the fullest and find enjoyment in nature and the small treasures that present themselves every day.

I climbed the Chilkoot Trail in 1995. This is the trail that starts the gold rush trek from Skagway up into Canada on the way to the Klondike.

I can share quilting and knitting skills as well as many ' do it yourself' household skills. I can install a new toilet, garbage disposal or light switch or fixture. Although I hate to do it, I have been known to finish my own sheetrock.
