ABOUT ME

Well, I seem to be the elder of this group. No worries on my part. Anyone interested in having an old hippy stay on their couch? I have mainly been globe trotting in the last 3 1/2 years participating in eco-communities and doing work exchange where I either get to share my skills or enhance or learn new ones. I am mainly a country girl but enjoy the culture of a big city from time to time.
I love anything to do with co-creating by playing music, arts and crafts, eco-building, organic gardening, vegi cooking, metaphysical dicussions and practice in the healing arts. I aslo just like to chill out and do zip all. Nature is also big on my list, so I love to trek, or do most things in the out doors. At this time in my life I am gifted with the opportunity to travel and staying with people in their homeland is the best way I can think of to get to know the culture and the people. I intend to re-invest my resources, skills and energy again in some eco, sustainable community. In the mean time I am contented to see what the rest of the world is doing to preserve
this beautiful world of ours.

PHILOSOPHY

We are here to learn, to teach and to help each other grow though support, respect and care. THe need for greedy competiton, immediate gratification and the gobbling of resources as fast as possible is what is destroying the people and the planet. there are many of us that are learning new ways that will enable us to live healthy, happy and prosperous lives by co-creating with each other, the earth and the universe. It can and is being done.

Just became a part of this community so getting to know the members either online or on couch will be a good start.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I was a home owner for many years, I was the one who provided the couch. Being of the hippy generation couchserfing was a well established practice and opening ones home was a great way of meeting like minded people. I loved hosting creative people who got involved in what ever was going on in my home such a playimg music, exchanging massage and other healing arts, gardening or just chilling. I Also welcomed those who shared their creativity. For the most part I have had great experiences, except for the time when a guest almost burnt down my house because he wasn't experienced with wood stoves. But, for the most part I just really enjoyed meeting people and sharing my home as I lived in the most exquisit part of Canada on a little Island off Vancouver Island and I got to meet the most interesting people who where traveling.

World beat, rege, classical, country folk, homegrown. Most except for hard rap and heavy metal. I love fantasy and sifi both in books and movies. THe classics also interest me as well as anthropoligical fiction. Books are one of my favorite tools for learning, so resource books are high on my list.

Being able to live the alternative life style with amazing creative people who care about the world and each other. THere is another world out there that is working towards co-creating with mother earth, and each other to sustain this beautiful world we live in.

I want to always be open to learning what this generation is feeling, thinking and contributing. I am happy to share any skills I may have that have been described above, in the way of alternative life skills that include healthy cooking, food preserving, organic gardening, living off the land, massage, reike, barn yard animal care, medicinal wild plants, aromatherapy. I aslo welcome learning things that others have to offer. Learning never stops.
