ABOUT ME

We are silly and open minded friendly folks.

We have 3 cats, all friendly in their own ways.

Devin works as an academic advisor at the University of Colorado, and Laura teaches music and choir to children of various ages.

We love living in Boulder, because we like to travel by bicycle whenever feasible. Boulder is one of the best cities in the US for bicycling (I know that's nothing compared to the rest of the world), and we like to bicycle down to the Boulder Outdoor Cinema on summer nights.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We traveled Europe in July/August '08, and were hosted by 3 different wonderful hosts in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Ireland.

Since then we have hosted travelers from all over the world, and it's been fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Good movies, complex music of any genre, and a mix of fiction and nonfiction books.

Movies: Shaun of the Dead, Lord of the Rings, Monsters Inc., South Park, anything by the Coen Brothers, etc.

Books: way too many to list, but When Corporations Rule the World and The Happiness Hypothesis are my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of the amazing things I have seen and done in my life were in Hawaii, where I lived for 5 years and where we got married (Devin's doing all of this website stuff).

Seeing a baby dolphin spinning through the air next to my kayak.

Hearing lightning hit a tree 30 feet away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have the following utterly impractical bizarre skills that I am happy to teach to people:

Master's degree in Political Science (too bad everyone believes they are experts in this topic already)
