About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn to really look people in the eyes and to see the humour in everything - i plan to achieve this by only hanging out with people who know how to laugh long and hard and by not trying to control my life.

ABOUT ME

I like to meet new people i can learn from. perhaps through new perspectives on the world. perhaps through skills like wolf whistling. i don't like plans. organising things in advance and having to pin myself down is not something which i enjoy or am good at. if you ask me to do it i will laugh less and become stressed out about decisions. and i like to laugh. i like to not think about what i wear or the way i look but assume that i always look like a human. preferably a feminine one. who starts to look like her personality after 5 minutes. my ideal life would be made up of at least 50% spontaneous adventure with people (learning to see the world around me). the other 50% would include movies, cooking, guitar playing, reading, hiking, singing, lying in a hammock or a combination of any or all of these activities. in the gaps between the atoms would be emotions, dirt, sunlight, rain and smells. If given the chance to live life like a Wes Anderson movie full of great music, ridiculous clothes, colours, emotions, honesty and scenes where people communicate with their eyes... i would be in my version of heaven. the kind where nothing is sacred.

PHILOSOPHY

i think these things are best discussed over ancient chinese tea rituals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and I surf and I host and I surf. i meet people full-of-wonder at everything. sometimes i meet people not so awe-inspired by anything. sometimes people make me shy. sometimes they make me happy. sometimes they make me thoughtful. i hope sometimes i create feelings in other people too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

fast becoming lots and lots.

Interests

Absolutely everything. but this is mood dependent and time of day dependent and controlled by the amount of food i have had recently. and also sleep. and the way in which the knowledge is being imparted. i like to lie in hammocks in candle-light while people tell me stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

crushed grapes with my feet, camped in the fynbos with candles at the southern most tip of africa, climbed dead trees in the Namibian desert which shredded my skin, hiked mountains which look like tables and the surface of the moon, felt really really amazingly happy, cleaned off dirt and sweat, made myself study when there are so many other things to do, felt at home after feeling the most strange i've ever felt in my life.. and said things to people i really didn't want to say.

Teach, Learn, Share

communication is best for this - not the pretend kind but the kind where emotions or ideas are actually transmitted (and not talking).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Curiosity to learn and joy from sharing your experiences, food and drink, and recognition of your soul.
