HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I sometimes miss the chance to reply to requests due to my writing and producing work - this was especially so after Japan's earthquake and tsunami in 2011. However, please don't hesitate to ask for a catch-up or a place to stay. I can be busy, but will help out when I can!

I am happy to show you around and let you stay if I have time to be a real host. I have been in Tokyo for over ten years, so I know the town pretty well and can help out with advice on most things to do with Tokyo and Japan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed on many couches over the years, not officially part of this site but rather in the spirit of sharing. I have had many people stay on my couch too. It's always great to meet new people and share new stories. I'm back after a turbulent few months of writing about Japan's recent hardships which I continue to cover. Low reply rate has been due to a national disaster - so if our times match you are welcome to stay and talk anything Tokyo or the world with me...

I like to read and watch films. My reading is pretty extensive and includes philosophy - contemporary and historical - fiction and non-fiction. From Agamben to Murakami.
Movies - I like to be immersed in other worlds. Something that stirs emotions - whether it's laughing, happiness or stress..
