Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Be a real person.
ABOUT ME
I like long bike rides, fair weather, fresh-baked bread, and Belgian ale. I'm interested in both science and human affairs, and I'm always glad to converse about either. I even lay some claim to general literacy. I got into geology through love of the outdoors. I believe in making responsible choices about the environment. I spend too much time on the internet, but I do it with the window open.
PHILOSOPHY
To pursue life, my science, and human interactions in a way that is ethical and honest to myself; to never take unfair advantage; to have friends and be happy.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Running around Europe crashing with people I met on the site, meeting people passing through Copenhagen and feeding them dinner, pontificating on Copenhagen bike culture, hosting lovely people in my lovely dorm
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met a number of people on CS, and I've liked all of them. As a self-selected community, CouchSurfing is made up largely of people who are interesting and awesome. What could go wrong?

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
It never snows in Southern California. At least not at sea level. One winter, we drove a UHaul ("Why are you renting this vehicle?" "We need to move... things." "What things?" "...Books.") and a group of students up a mountain above Pasadena, California, to spend the morning scooping snow out of turnouts. I drove the passenger car, but I hear the U-Haul had a harrowing time coming down the mountain. The snow shifted from one side to the other, nearly causing the vehicle to overbalance. We came back down with a truck half-full of snow, though, and spread it in my house's courtyard as part of the scenery for a large party of ours. Snowball fights abounded.
