ABOUT ME

I am an American who will be setting off on a world trip beginning November 19th, 2007.

I am 26 years old, and was born & raised on my parents horse breeding farm and cattle ranch in Nebraska, USA. I grew up riding retired race horses, working cattle, and helping with breeding, foaling and calving. I now live near Denver, Colorado and work for an insurance company where I am the department manager.

I decided early this year to take time off to travel the world and live abroad as I've always wanted to do. Since then I have been saving my money and making arrangements for my horses, my dog, and selling off most of my possessions. I found a wonderful lady to lease one of my horses for a year, and am turning the other one out to pasture.

I am traveling to Australia first, but then am going on to India, Nepal, Kenya, Tanzania, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and as much of Europe as I can see in six months. I am definitely traveling low budget, as I only have so much money for the whole year. I'd really like to see the sights from a native's perspective in most of the places I am traveling to, and meet as many people as I can. Books: My all time favorite book is Outlander. The Hero and the Crown is another one I will always love, I think I may have read it 20 times since I was 13. LOTR, Dune, Necroscope, The Scarlett Pimpernel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Through a Glass Darkly, The hidden messages in water, Killer Angels, Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel, The Flashman Papers by George McDonald Fraser are great, and historically accurate to boot, love em. Stephen King's Dark Tower books are amazing too. Pretty much if it's a book and even vaguely interesting, I like it, and the longer the better.

Movies: Braveheart, Tombstone, Blazing Saddles, Shawshank Redemption, Office Space, Sin City, The Notebook, Lord of the Rings, The Sweetest Thing, Ghost in the Darkness, Old School, Princess Bride, Band of Brothers, and Goonies are some of my favorites.
