Nic : To work only as much as required to get the money and annual leave to travel instead of work

ABOUT ME

Nic : I am in my late 40's and think I am finally growing up although am still a bit in denial. I have had a couple of 'bad hands' dealt, but have moved forward learning a lot more about myself and life and capitalising on this. I have gone from being a bank officer, to a computer programmer, to studying natural medicine, to a support officer and business analyst back in the bank. Got qualifications in aged care and worked in community and residential areas for 4 years before it got too emotionally draining. I am now working in retail in a hardware store. I love Ben to death and really want to be able to experience as much in life as possible and encourage others to do the same.

PHILOSOPHY

Nic : I think I have covered this but I guess to sum up Life can be short, make the most of it and leave with no regrets.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before January '06 we had only couch surfed without realising we were doing it having had numerous overseas guests stay with us. Most have been family, friends or friends of friends but we have had others we met while out and about camping come and stay with us for a while when they passed through Adelaide. Now we have met some more fantastic people and had great times showing them our way of life and our beautiful city and countryside.

兴趣

Nic : Anything that involves challenges or new experiences. LOVE dogs, good food and wine, the outdoors, hassle free life with structure.

Nic : Music varies with my mood ... open to anything but prefer not country music or too much doof, doof music. Movies, like a laugh, a twist or something thought provoking ... favorite Gattaca. Books more into anything non-fiction at the moment. Especially expedition type autobiographies. They are so motivational.

Nic : travelling for three and a half months on my own in USA/Canada/Mexico. Great confidence builder and way to assess life and goals.
