About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be mildly less vile than the world I/we witness.

ABOUT ME

Mention of this in the other boxes....

As of April, the yellow's on the broom so I may well be away from here - hence the maybe.

Book-breast'd boyo.
In a state of near-constant distraction, away from writin mainly.
I've eluded a couple of curses in my time.
Despite what I may say elsewhere here, people are truly wonderful, if they have half a chance. The foundation of most of my fables, the song of most all my myths and idles.

'Couch' is usually at least two people at the flat, myself, https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/a.lex.io/, and whoever else may be about....
Maybe even the infamous Pat 'Hollow Legs' Sweeney.

PHILOSOPHY

Courtesy of couchsurfing:

"Why do you live your life? Feelings? Thoughts?"

About the size of it. Well worded, succinct.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Intertwining vulnerabilities with wayfarers.
Have been hugely fortunate in surfing, hosted on occasion (good souls all), not so much as I'd've liked as I'm itinerant....

(Most surfings and hostings were with someone else, so those comments are on EMILAMISIUK's profile)

Music, Movies, and Books

Will list a couple of whatever I'm appreciating at the moment, or have recently

Wildbirds & Peacedrums
(hymns to humanity)

The Jesus & Mary Chain - Psychocandy

Efterklang

La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc (Carl Theodore Dreyer)
(re-watched after a few years, in a cathedral with live music and soprano, sublime. A religious experience, even. So keen was I to be there, I accidentally arrived a day early, where my companion was mistaken for the Soprano, arriving for rehearsals)

Repulsion (Roman Polanski)
(disgraceful, tremendous)

The Magician of Lublin (Isaac Bashevis Singer)
"Who mocked whom here? The same rabble existed everywhere. They danced at weddings and wailed at funerals, swore faithfulness at the altar and corrupted the institution of marriage, wept over a forlorn, fictitious little orphan and butchered each other in wars, pogroms, and revolutions. He held Emilia's hand but anger burned in him."

The Periodic Table (Primo Levi)
"I must confess that I had trouble accustoming myself to life aboard a ship; it dances under your feet, leans a bit to the right and a bit to the left, it is hard to eat and sleep, and you step on each other's feet due to lack of space. Besides, the chained rowers stare at you with such ferocious eyes as to make you think that, if they weren't in fact chained, they would tear you to pieces in a flash: and the owner told me that sometimes it happens. On the other hand, when the wind is favourable, the sail billows out, the rowers lift their oars, and you think you are flying in an enchanted silence..."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Indescribable things, and simply shared ones - is there worth of one over the other?
Witnessed/experienced/felt infinite wonderful notions, often abysmal, more often marvellous. But I don't appreciate the competitive element of asking such questions.
So, something honest and unimpressive if you weren't there, one marrying both, by no means sublime, nor at all tedious, I hope - recently I was laying beneath a sheet of queer material on someone's couch, and static charges were flying from myself to the quilt, illuminating it tinily from time to time.
I thought it was grand.

I love many people.

Libraries.

Contrasts of colour.

Ink on skin.

Bodies.

Teach, Learn, Share
