About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find out whether I want to work, or continue studying.

ABOUT ME

I write about personal things, men, women, men & women, relationships, people, culture, religion, law, religion & law, smart people, stupid people, food, politics, international affairs.

I'm sarcastic. I've come to fully observe now that it's not a nice thing, so I'm not as sarcastic as before, even in a humorous way (just to be safe). Anglocised. I spend quite sometime online on MSN Messenger. I have a Friendster and Facebook account. A few of my videos can be found on youtube.com Just search for 'zainjeng'

I can't keep still or feel redundant. I travel as much as I can. Throughout 4 years of law school, I always had at least 1 part time job. Primarily, as an event Master of Ceremony and tutoring high school kids Math, Advance Math and English. I've also worked in a club, real estate, driving instructor, retail assistant, home typist. I've interned at Eurocopter (a French aviation company), High Court and the International Committee of Red Cross.

I rarely party, but when I do, I party hard. I don't smoke or drink but ppl around me generally do. I believe, 'each to his own.'

I have 6 siblings (that explains the big house, but 3 of them have moved out) and more than 30 first cousins. I was born and raised in Malaysia, my parents are from Singapore and my ancestors are from the Middle East.

I don't look like a local, half the time I am not treated like one, my name or behaviour or height is not like one, but I am still respectful of the ways here, or wherever I go. Thus, I kind of have an outsiders view of Malaysia. This would make it easier for me to explain to surfers who want to understand the country, culture and people.

PHILOSOPHY

An egalitarian. All of us are the same. Only borders that really separate us.

Each to his own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe that any land in this world has its pros and cons. Which ever continent or country. I never go to a place and say 'there's nothing there.' I think there is always something to gain, benefit, learn and value from. But I don't blame anyone for not seeing this, as I will assist in understanding this concept.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've recorded a few videos and uploaded it online. Search for 'zainjeng' at youtube.com

Celebrate my 9th birthday at the peak of mount Kinabalu.

During my 3 weeks in Bali, I went through Hari Nyepi (Solitary/Quiet Day). By customary law, on this day, nobody goes out, everybody are indoors, no noise, no commotion, no lights, businesses are closed.'Ghostown' in the most appreciative and respectful manner. Only the sun and the moon lights Bali for that 24 hours.

On 1 Sunday morning in Milan, I was wearing a suit and for 20 minutes had breakfast outside the train station with a Jimmy Buo (whom at first told me he was Jimmy, Jimmy Hendrix) which I think was drunk, homeless, and did not speak English (see picture). We didn't stop talking throughout.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am familiar with yoga, health, fitness, gender studies, law of war, international law, human rights law, international humanitarian law, the red cross. History on my part of the world and point out the similarities with other parts of the world.

I'm not smart or academic. Never was a 'good' student. But wherever I go, besides going to ppl's homes, I like to go to their universities and flea markets. You learn much more there than at a shopping mall or some monument.
