About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Right now I'm practicing the harmonica and trying to bring social justice to europe.

ABOUT ME

!NOTICE!
I can't recieve any couchsurfers at the moment since I just moved to Sthlm and my appartment is rented to a friend of mine. I'll update this page as soon as I find somewhere to live.
!NOTICE!

OK, I never know how to start these things..... I see myself as a very social person who love to interact with people that have different opinions than me. I was born in Helsingborg, Sweden but never quite liked the city so at 19 I travelled for 6months to south-east asia. When I got home I lived in different places in Helsingborg for about a year and then i finally left for good. Now I live and study in Gothenburg but I have lived for a year in the great student-town of Lund and also for a couple of months in Berlin.

I love travelling and I always try to save enough money to get away and see places, I aspecially enjoy Europe and have visited the majority of countries included in the EU. My dream is to study at least a semester in another European country and hopefully in Berlin:).

I, like most people, have lots of interests (which I'll get back to in the 'Interest' area of this presentation) but if I were to mention one interest that defines me then it's politics. I have always had an interest in discussions and although I come from a family who rarelly if ever discussed politics while I grew up I still managed to find my way into different political organisations. Right now I am a part of the socialdemocratic studentparty of sweden (S-studenter), an organisation who organizes students with socialdemocratic beliefs. This takes up a lot of my spare time and I must say that I love to discuss politics with everyone from any political ideology (except perhaps nazists and people who do not accept the value of human life).

My other great passion in life is music and since I was very young I have listened to all kinds of music and right at this moment mr.bob dylan is streaming from my speakers. I try to visit a number of music festivals every year (i.e. roskilde festival) and I love to go out dancing at least once a week.

PHILOSOPHY

If people have a different opinion than you then there is always a reason for this. Always listen to peoples experiences, try to understand them and never judge before you understand. Always challenge yourself to rethink old knowledge, never fool yourself that you know it all (because you don't).

I also belive that the world is a very complicated place and when people present easy solutions to all our problems then you should always be sceptical.

I belive strongly in social democracy since I think it's the only ideology which understands that liberal freedom and democracy is useless without social rigths. Starving people don't vote and without the right to education our "free" choice is worthless.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite new at CouchSurfing.com so I have no storys from this site. But I have sleept on several couches, busstops, airports, floors and so on.

One of my most interesting couch experiences was when I and two friends were visiting Berlin three years ago. We meet a strange fella named Johannes outside a kebab place. After a couple of drinks and wild discussions about our car (a 1980 volkswagen van in which we all lived for 2months) we decided to sleep at his place. So at 6 a´clock inte the morning we went to sleep.

I was awaken the next morning by Johannes roommate who wondered who the hell we were? And why we were sleeping in his appartment. Our friend from next night was nowhere to be found but after some convincing we were allowed to sleep on as the roommate left for work. An hour or two later there was several loud bangs on the door and since me and my friends now seemed to be alone in this unknown home we decided to open the door. There stood a painter who demanded to be let in since he was going to repaint the entire house. We let him in and went back to sleep with an angry painter repainting all around us.

The whole experience seemed surreal and absurd and when we later that day left the appartment we all wondered, did that all happen or was it just a strange dream?

Interests

Okay like I said earlier I always enjoy good music so let's start with a list of different artists who I enjoy: depeche mode, bob hund, daft punk, bob dylan, tom waits, johnny cash, le tigre, booka shade, the knife, bright eyes, joy division, ladytron, pink floyd, Interpol, Jens lekman, the arcade fire...

I could go on with this list forever but I won't since I think the above listed is enough to get the feeling of what I enjoy.

Like I said earlier I like politics but except that I enjoy reading, rock-climbing (have been bouldering for a couple of years), surfing the internet for useless knowledge and of course above all meeting new people.

Like movies? Of course! I won't list my favorites since I'm sick of making lists but the last film I saw and loved was 'No country for old men'. Also cartoon TV-series makes me happy (Simpsons, family guy and american dad).
