CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to discover my mission. I am seeking truth, purpose and healing--to make the earth more beautiful, joyful and closer to heaven.

ABOUT ME

I feel I've lived a lot of lifetimes in my 33 years. I've been driven by the need to know and understand people, and my curiousity for different ways of life. I've lived in Oklahoma, Washington, Chicago, Honolulu, Tucson, Austin, and now Washington again. My jobs have included busboy, waiter, dishwasher, garde manger, office assistant, bellman, ballroom dance instructor, doorman, courier, teacher, mediator, carpenter, farmer and gardener. I like to read and studied a breadth of subjects in college,
I'm driven a lot by idealism and spiritual aspirations, but i definitely have not always lived up to these goals. Though I like to work and tend to have a lot of energy, I can also be lazy, undisciplined and unfocused. I suppose this has sort of made my life a mess, and me a somewhat unsatisfied person. I'm not really sure what to do about this, which is why I'm travelling, hoping to find some clarity and purpose.
Really, I love the place that I'm from and kind of hate to leave it, but I'm hoping that getting out a little bit will help me to clear my head and see some new possibilities.

PHILOSOPHY

As human beings, we are put on this planet to learn, grow and evolve. We have enormous potential, every one of us, and a corresponding responsibility to care for our world and the other beings that inhabit it. It is not important to do big things, but to do things with a big heart.

I love introducing people to the place I'm from, and hope to have space to host many friends, new and old, in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a guest in many homes and have always greatly appreciated how such simple hospitality can warm the heart and comfort the soul. There's nothing like a warm meal and a warm bed on a cold night in a strange place.

Interests

I am interested in everything. Aaaah! Right now I am really interested in the changes that are taking place globally--socially, ecologically, climatilogically and consciously. I find agriculture to be a particularly compelling subject, and my experience of farming has completely changed the way I think about and taste food.
