ABOUT ME

So I guess I should put stuff in here now that I'm back home and have access to a computer and time. My name is Dave, I was born and raised in the smallest state in the union, Rhode Island. Up until last August, the furthest west I'd been was NYC, and the furthest north was Maine. My friends and I set off to see the country. We had no jobs, and no place to live, so it just made sense to go as far as we could. I was always told to travel while I was young, but up until I left with my friends, I was under the impression you need to save to travel. Needed to have hotels, and flights, and all those silly things. Well, I was mistaken. Though my own personal experience, and, through this site I've learned that money, and distance are object overcome by patience and perseverance. With a goal and a destination in mind one can do just about anything.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend Janelle and I stayed with some kids we'd met in Philly, they were members but we didn't find them on the site. First and only time I truly surfed(with the help of the site) was in Nashville. Everywhere else my friends and I were pretty much on our own. This website is a pretty big community, but sometimes, not big enough it would seem...

Interests

Instruments, Guitars and Harmonicas mostly... classic rock, punk, indie, jazz, hip hop, pretty much any music. I love movies, and in fact, used to work at a Blockbuster. I love bikes, and skateboards of all kinds. Long, and caster, what have you... I used to be a political junkie, now I'm pretty much a "Political Atheist" And while I have my own beliefs, or lack there of now I guess, I will certainly listen to yours, and debate and discuss with anyone about anything. Nothings quite as nice as an exchange of ideas over coffee and cigarettes...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hitch hikes from Nashville, TN to LA. I've seen the banks of the Mississippi, The desert sands... the night sky over the planes. The earth is truly wondrous...
