I believe that by communicating with each other we can understand each other. That's why I got a master's in journalism.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to show this city off to people.

I lived, worked, studied and owned a coffeehouse in Pittsburgh. It's a great city! We have lots to offer cultural and artistic wealth. While the interesting people here are tough to know they are well worth it.

I'd like to show people the best this city has to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never "couch surfed" but love the concept. I have many time in my life "relied on the kindness of strangers." I would like to return some of the generosity.

Way too many and too diverse to list. It would be like trying to list all my friends I have ever met.

I hopped on freight trains from Pittsburgh to various locations. On three different occasions I hoboed to Newark, NJ, Ann Arbor, Mich and Indianapolis, IN.

I hitched hiked through Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and England.

I ran with the bulls in Pamplona, twice.

I saw my daughter being born.
