ABOUT ME
I'm a short red-head with a Brazilian and Japanese fiance who loves life and people. I teach children with autism and they are my world. My work is my passion and it challenges me everyday. To be able to actually cause positive change in someone else is an incredible feeling and its what keeps me going.
I've always loved to travel but my work schedule only allows for about a trip a year. I often contemplate just dropping everything and leaving it all behind to explore all this world has to offer. One day...
PHILOSOPHY
Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to meet new, interesting people from all over the world! I'd like to hear everyone's story, if I could :) I traveled to Central America this summer and met/surfed with some of the most wonderful people along the way! I've had the opportunity to host a couple times and have had nothing but great experiences!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted three times now, and surfed 4 in Central America last summer! I have met the most incredible people here and abroad. I absolutely adore the whole principle of CouchSurfing and how it creates endless opportunities for great things :) I will continue to do this for a long, long time!

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: to name a few - shawshank redemption, juno, forrest gump...
music: lately it's been mostly - the weepies, iron and wine, a fine frenzy, rilo kiley, john butler trio, the national, radiohead... but in general, the indie, singer-songwriter, folk, alternative, classic rock genres.
books: lots. eat pray love by elizabeth gilbert. ishmael by daniel quinn might be my favorite. i like sedaris, kerouac, vonnegut, bukowski, and palahniuk, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I see tiny miracles every day in my classroom... From a boy who is non-verbal who speaks a word, to another who offers a tissue to a friend who's crying...
Teach, Learn, Share
teach: autism awareness.
learn: everyone's story.
share: fine food, drink, laughs, and probably a hug.
