About Me

CURRENT MISSION

spreading the "hakuna matata" lifestyle that has treated me so well

ABOUT ME

I live about 45 minutes (by bus; 25 by car) outside Aspen, Colorado. A lot of people live to work; I work to live. Come play with me -- in the winter, I like to make fresh tracks in out-of-bounds powder or hop through moguls on-trail. When I'm not on a mountain, I'm usually out and about in town. Summers are even more excellent: free concerts at the base of the mountains, hiking, climbing, and looking forward to some paragliding. Life could not be better. If you'd like to drop by, drop me a line! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Right before my first caving experience, I was told to take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time and leave nothing but footprints. I think this is perfectly applicable to life above ground as well.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Open to suggestions!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Seems like every laid-back, go-with-the-flow person I've met is a couch surfer. This is a good sign. Never had the privelege of hosting just yet, as I've mostly been traveling about until now. Looking forward to changing this asap. :)

Interests

I spent twelve years of my childhood dedicated to a ballet studio and another four years of youth training in opera and musical theatre, so I have a strong interest in all things performance. Politics have since consumed my intellect, while yoga, meditation and the mountains have captivated my spirit. I truly believe that there is nothing that can't be resolved over a good cup of coffee/tea/glass of wine (usually the wine). Looking for a back-packing, skiing, white-water-rafting, climbing or caving buddy? Count me in. And I very much mean it when I say that I'll try anything once.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Surf's Up, Imagine Me & You, Good Night and Good Luck, etc... Music: Anything with a sitar, cello or harmonica. Blues, jazz, reggae, opera, just about anything, really. Books: Where War Lives, The End of Poverty, Who Hates Whom, All the President's Men, The Book of Lost Things, Kite Runner

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen some views from the tops of mountains that I would qualify as pretty amazing. Seen some views from 30 feet under the ground that I would also call amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a dabbler, really. Someone once told me to try to know something about everything and everything about something. Still working on the latter, but if you would like to know a bit more about politics and international relations, I'd be happy to share. My Spanish could use some work, too, so anyone willing to help me in that department, please do!
