HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I cannot wait to meet new people, learn from them, help with what I can.

Unfortunately, I do not have a couch to share as I am in a dorm-like situation in Switzerland. However, when I return to the U.S., I'm sure I could find a place for someone to stay.

Interests

Anything outside (hiking, biking, running, skiing, snowshoeing...), books (Dostoevsky's a genius), music (all kinds, but I love rock and blues), art and photography, family, writing, exploring and doing the unusual, mountains, lakes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like the Coen Brothers' films, so Fargo, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, and No Country For Old Men. Also, The Truman Show, Tommy Boy, A Streetcar Named Desire...
Music: The Allman Brothers, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Billie Holiday, CAN, Canned Heat, Cream, The Doors, Howlin’ Wolf, Joanna Newsom, Johnny Winter, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Mount Eerie, Nas, Rare Earth, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Son House, Sufjan Stevens, Traffic, The Velvet Underground, many more.
Books: Too many to write here. I've read a lot of Dostoevsky, but some of my favorites of his are The Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punishment, and The Possessed. C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia are amazing, as well. Some others might be The Tortilla Curtain, Anna Karenina, The Picture of Dorian Gray...
