About Me

I am a pretty laid back person, more interested in sipping tea than partying all night, although I do still like to get out to music festivals in the summer. I rarely make it until dawn anymore, however! I have lived in a bus, so know how to keep neat and organized. I am currently renting a room while exploring work and schooling in north Alberta, so that's why I can't currently host. I miss it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is very strange to have entire vast buildings dedicated to sheets that get washed every day, and rooms that must be the same, all kept that way by people you never see. I would rather chat with someone who lives in the city I am visiting, and can point me in the direction of new and interesting things, not just the touristy attractions one finds touted in the city tourist site.

I like to offer the same, when I'm able!

Interests

Reading is a delightful escape into the imagination of another; I enjoy getting to know a new book very much. I like visiting wineries, and waterfalls, natural sights, and new places!

Music, Movies, and Books

My current favorite author is Patrick Rothfuss, who writes sentences like jewellers craft rings.

I have always loved the movie "The Last Unicorn". As child, I hid the VHS rental, and incurred a large fine for my poor mother!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have you been to Burning Man? It's quite the experience. This has led me to participate in the local Burn community, and several rewarding projects have come of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know? You can eat tall thistles if you "peel" them; get rid of the prickly leaves. They taste like celery.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell you what times and what temperature of water each variety of tea ought to be steeped. If we go to tea tea shop, I can suggest a tea that you will love, based on the "choosing tree" of question and answer. As a generalization, try Creamy Earl Grey, you will probably like it!
