About Me

Hi!

I live in SE Portland, Oregon and I love everyone minute of it. I’m a full-time artist and plant parent to a small jungle.

If I’m at home I’m likely dancing around my live-in photography studio, or painting (my version of) portraits for folks.

During the day I love biking around my city, hiking through the foothills, and being at the river.

My evenings are usually spent social dancing and taking lessons for leading Salsa and West Coast Swing.

I love good food, good company, and beauty in all forms.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was a pretty active couch-surfer a few years back and I’m just reconnecting with this community in a (fingers crossed) post-pandemic world.
The impetus to reconnecting was a last minute invitation to a wedding in Europe. I’ve never traveled over seas so I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to explore the continent for the first time and what I want most is to connect with local folks in the cities I visit to get to know why you love where *you* live.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I reach for lately is that of Toni Jones, Ibeyi, Yendry, Doechii, Lizzo, Qveen Herby, Little Simz, Megan Thee Stallion, and my queen Beyoncé.
I don’t watch many films these days but I do enjoy the occasional movie night.
The books I reach for tend to be about social justice and/or polyamory. I’d love to hear about what you’re reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Transitioned my life from that of a conservative full-meal-deal Mormon to a progressive full-meal-deal Queer in a relentless pursuit of truth and authenticity. I’ve lived many lives and I am happy to share the perspective I’ve gleaned along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Once upon a time I worked as a Wilderness Therapy Guide. I've also been a trip leader and ropes course team-building facilitator etc. and still love talking about the industry, group dynamics, and which knots to use for which occasions.

I still love being outside, but these days you’re more likely to find me on the dance floor a few times a week working on my Salsa and West Coast Swing leading skills. I love sharing dance with people and I would be thrilled to show you some basics before hitting a night on the town.

Please feel free to be conversationally curious about my religious upbringing, gender identity, relationship anarchy, polyamory, house plants, co-parenting, Portland BLM protests, and plant medicine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Enthusiasm for social dancing (I’d love to take you out if you’ve never been!), some astrology party tricks, and my sparkling personality. ✨
If you choose to host me I would love to create a painting for you and send it to you when I return to Portland.
