CURRENT MISSION

My current mission in life is to have as much fun as possible and meet as many awesome people as I can! Traveling the world and creating unforgettable moments are my main goals at the moment, but I look forward to going back to school for animal medicine.

ABOUT ME

A QUICK DESCRIPTION: I love having fun, doing whatever... partying, chilling out, trying new things, camping, dancing, drinking, making up crazy games.... basically I love meeting new people and doing spontaneous things! I am usually up for anything unless it involves violence or hurting people's feelings.... you know unless it is all in good fun of course! :)

MY FOUR RULES: Be impeccable with your word, always do your best, don't take anything personal and never assume. (taken from the book Four Agreements... which I haven't even read...yet!)

MORE DETAILED: I graduated from Cal Poly about 2 years ago with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. I have wanted to be a vet all of my life however, after working my ass off in college to get good grades I realized I needed a break! Soooo... I moved to Madagascar for 5 months to study lemurs... a type of primate. Yes, I got dreads and moved to Africa to live in the jungle with animals a bunch of lazy lemurs. It was crazy but it changed my life!! I developed the insatiable appetite for traveling!!

Now, I am still planning on attending vet school some day unless something else comes up that interests me as much. For the moment I am traveling as much as I can, meeting as many people as possible, having as much fun as I want and starting a nonprofit called the Sun Catchers Project. My project is dedicated to donating village sized solar ovens to orphanages, schools and hospitals in developing countries. Currently I am focusing on Africa.

I love doing new things! I grew up in a tiny little community on the Salmon River in Northern California. I attended a one room school house and my graduating 8th grade class consisted of four people. Needless to say, my brothers and I had to invent new things in the wilderness to keep us entertained! We lived in the most beautiful place in the world and were surrounded by crazy hippie baby boomers who escaped the city to find "peace in the wilderness"... and by this I mean they wanted to get away from civilization so they could smoke as much green as possible while they lounged naked on the river side! Oh yes, good times for sure!

I am extremely open minded and appreciate diversity. I would consider myself very liberal.... I am definitely opposed to the war, however, I understand there are good reasons for the war as well. I believe our country is participating in the war for the wrong reasons. Even though I am liberal I have no problem spending time with people who have different opinions than me.

Every little thing you do to improve someone else's life or our environment is a noble and wonderful decision.... be proud of the positive things you do. Forgive the mistakes you make and remember the lessons you learn.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel a lot so couch surfing is a great way to meet people and get to know the heart of a culture. Also, I live in a darling little hippie town in Northern California where people are usually interested to visit due to the reputation of being really artsy and open minded. Plus of course there is all the Humboldt County marijuana hype. I am always interested in helping people out to get to know the area and surf on my couch if I am not occupied with something else.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One of my best friend's is an avid couch surfer and she introduced me to this wonderful world of meeting awesome people who love to have a good time! I have spent time with her and her couch surfers she hosts in San Francisco. Now that I live in Arcata, I get requests all the time, it is such a fun way to meet people and it is how I met my new roommate who I LOVE!!! kisses to you PHILLY PANTS!

I love doing new things and immersing myself in new cultures! I love diversity and having crazy fun times! I love to go out.... dancing is a must, I am really into Lindy Hop Swing dancing so I don't really drink too much anymore because it is impossible for me to lindy if I am drunk and dancing definitely takes precedence. Wine tasting is a wonderful time though... and I definitely don't mind people who drink and definitely remember how fun it can be.

I use to party pretty hard but I don't anymore. I really enjoy chilling. I love reading and watching movies and discussing politics and ways we can help to make the world a better place. I am a firm believer in the notion "every little bit helps". I love animals too, any time I am hanging out with animals I am a pretty happy camper.... oh yeah and I love camping and being in the wilderness.

I graduated with a BS in Veterinary Science so medicine, health, nutrition, animals and people interest me greatly. I am really into healing with energy and read many books on shamanism and mind healing.

I have to stay active.... I enjoy all types of activities; surfing, hot yoga, skiing, snowboarding, hoop dancing, running, biking, hiking, rock climbing, dancing... Lindy Hop especially. I really want to get into kite surfing, I have a training kite so I am on my way. I would say right now surfing and Lindy swing dancing are my major interests.

I am not very good at any other language, a small background in Spanish and French but I suck. I would love to learn to speak other languages really well... and intend to spend more time on this.

Music is a definite interest. A lot of my friends, including my two older brothers, play music and are amazingly talented. My best friend and ex-boyfriend freestyles and is working on his first album. I really admire people who put the time into music. I really want to focus more of my energy into playing guitar... I know, typical and pretty standard but I would really like to sing along to a guitar. I used to play piano, clarinet and the violin but stopped in high school. I like all types of music.... definitely underground hip-hop, reggae, indie, chill sublimish music, european pop, anything really. I always like to learn new types of music!

If my Sun Catchers Project is successful, I think it will be amazing!

Sounds weird but one of the most amazing experiences I have had is delivering a calf and performing surgery with my mentor on a dog who was hit by a car.
