I'm a movie addict and usually watch a few each week.

I like to read anything that either gives me inspiration or captures my imagination. My favorite writers consist of Paulo Coelho, J.R.R. Tolkien and Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nature is one of the most amazing things that any of us can ever see. We should all make sure that it stays somewhat pristine.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone should check into the Earthships that are being built in Taos, New Mexico. Although the name isn't all that appealing(you're not exactly flying or sailing a piece of Earth), the concept is amazing. These houses, pretty much, sustain themselves. They are made from used tires that are packed with soil and plastered over. Your structure is built partially into the ground so that it keeps the temperature cooler in hot climates and warmer in cold climates. The rooms are either round or horseshoe shaped. For energy, you use whatever is available in your environment, whether it's solar, wind, hydro, etc... You have a greenhouse in your kitchen which pretty much grows everything that you need. You can even grow a tree in your kitchen! Your kitchen waste-water goes towards feeding yor plants. Your bathroom waste is cooked(I know it sounds strange) in an exterior oven and then used to feed outdoor crops. You can incorporate a filtration system to use rain water as drinking water. If you set it up near the ocean, you can incorporate a desalinization system. Use your imagination. There isn't a limit to what can be done with this idea. If you are interested in learning more, you can start by checking out www.earthship.org. There are plenty of other sites that deal with self-sustaining housing, as well. I still don't really care for that name though. What does everyone think about changing it to Eco-house? I think it's a little more suitable...
