ABOUT ME

I'm from Greensboro, NC but currently living in Urbana, IL. I have a doctorate in piano performance and teach at Millikin University. Music is my passion. I consider myself to be humble, laid-back, respectful of others, and open-minded in this big world.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a beautiful grain of dust in a cosmic ocean of unfathomable depth. I'm happy to be along for the ride. Working hard and loving life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love sharing and meeting new people... I want to learn as much as I can from people in this short life. I am currently unable to offer a place for surfers, but hope to do that once I have more space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first night in Austria over summer 2007 (through a piano program), I was lost in the streets of Vienna, when a stranger approached me and asked what I was looking for (I was holding a map and looking confused). I told him I was looking for a cheap hostel, and after talking for two minutes, he offered me his couch! I had a great time and made a new friend. Now I want to share that experience with other people that need a place to stay.

I am a pianist, and do a lot of teaching in illinois. I'm happy to talk about my experiences and share any knowledge I have on the topic. I also play the accordion, and have a bit of experience with bagpipes. I'm a lover of music and am happy to share, teach, or talk about anything related here. I also enjoy astronomy and stargazing as a hobby...fun to go out on starry nights and learn about what's up there.
