I started couch-surfing in 2008, showing Milan around to a lovely American girl and a great Brazilian guy.

I've had wonderful times in Ireland, Sweden, Turkey and Italy thanks to it.

Music: Late 90s hip hop/ r&b (from Missy Elliott to Nas), moody pop music (the Scandinavians do it best), Italian classics, Iranian classics, classic soul, moody electro, etc.

Movies: Spike Lee's "The 25th Hour" and James Whale's "Showboat" are two movies I know by heart.

Books: Albert Camus' theatre works (most notably "Caligula"), Borges' short stories, Philip Roth's "The Human Stain", Vargas Llosa's "Pantaleon y las Visitadoras", Heller's "Catch 22". And many many others.
