About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learing how to teach the illogical German language...

ABOUT ME

I'd most likely describe myself as an open-minded and communicative person, and I guess I have something of a "restless searcher".
I'm definitely someone who works to live, and doesn't live to work.
I wouldn't wanna live in a world without music, nor in a world without humor. I can be quite sarcastic (if not cynical) sometimes, but I'm trying to cut it to a minimum.;-)
I love to meet friends, old and new ones, having some food and wine together, watching a good movie, or simply having an inspiring conversation.
But if you want to know more about me, I'm afraid you have to meet me in person...;-)

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. (Saint Augustine)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed quite a few couches when I was on a six-month "round-the-world trip" in 2008 and simply LOVED the philosophy behind it and the amazing people I met this way.
In the meantime, I was lucky to host some really great people in Graz, too, and am looking forward to hosting even more.:-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm always looking for (mostly "off-mainstream") movies, music, and books that touch my soul...

But music is definitely my worst addiction. I'm quite a geek, always looking for "new" bands, singers/songwriters, etc...

Among my favorites: The Swell Season (or Glen Hansard in any other form, especially live), Mumford & Sons, The Dresden Dolls, Amanda Palmer, Regina Spector, Dry the River, Sophie Hunger, Laura Marling, Sarah Blasko, Damien Rice, Saybia, Feist, David Gray, Aimee Mann, Josh Ritter, Jamie Cullum, Paolo Nutini, The Kooks, etc. etc. etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess I'm more a person of "the little things" in life than one of great and amazing deeds... But I guess there's nothing wrong with that (at least that's what I'm trying to tell myself...;-)
The most amazing things I've seen so far, are probably some of the places I visited on my travels through Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the States - as well as the great people I met on this trip, who really inspired me and gave me lots of new ideas for my own future.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently training to become a German teacher, so, if you wanna learn (some of) it - here I am.:-)
I've also been trying to become a decent amateur photographer for a couple of years now, but I'm afraid, it'll take me a couple of years more until I know every button and menu item of my Nikon D90...
