ABOUT ME

My name is Alexandra but everybody calls me Xandi.
I was born in Austria. (That’s one of the little countries in Europe, next to Germany and we have no kangaroos there.) I grew up in a little town next to Vienna, the capital of Austria and attended a commercial school. When I was 16 years old I did one of my best decisions ever: I started to learn how to play the saxophone. After one year I was able to play in an orchestra It is a lot of fun and I really like the people there. They are in all ages and so I have also many older or younger friends.

I would say this is one of my creative parts in live. But I also like to paint or to do sports like playing volleyball, tennis or to go hiking. I like to go dancing or to hang out with my friends. I also like to watch good movies.

Now, as I am 19 years old I decided to come to the United States to improve my English and to collect new experience.

I like to communicate with other people, especially with people from other cultures and nationalities. My goal in life is to speak many different languages although my favourite sentence says: The shortest way between two people is a smile.

As my family is very important to me, I would like to tell you something about them. I have a little sister, she is 17 years old and although I love to be here, I miss her very much. I have also a really good relationship to my parents. Another very important part of my life are my friends. I know many people, but I can count my really, really good friends on one hand. They are already part of my family because we had vacation, Easter or Christmas celebrations together and I can rely on them per 100%.

Other people would describe me as a positive, humorous and open-minded person.

PHILOSOPHY

The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met many couch surfers who stayed at my friends place. They came from all over the world (India, America,...) to see Vienna. With almost everyone we went to a speciall Austrian Restaurant,called Heurigen, to share our traditional food. Unfortionately I have never accommodated a couchsurfer for the reason that I lived with my parents. But I am convinced that I am going to have a huge cultural exchange when I have an apartment of my own!
