About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To work odd jobs until I can afford to get CELTA certified and teach my way across the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a city kid at heart but the great outdoors is what I love. I grew up in NYC but have spent months sleeping in tents in the woods, the backseats of cars, squatting in empty properties and on my wonderful CS hosts couches/floors.

The superlative "Jane of all trades, master of none" seems quite fitting for me as I've been employed as everything from lifeguard to barista, farm hand to Wall Street financial trading assistant, babysitter to production assistant on major movie sets.

When I do sleep, I can sleep anywhere - I really do enjoy the floor.

I drink but don't smoke, I don't mind if you do though. I'm have some annoying food allergies but if have pets I will play with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I share my stories, food and willingness to learn with everyone I meet.

If I like your CS request enough I'll share one of my California King mattresses with you too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience has been tossed across the USA but my longest stint was in gorgeous northern California. If you ever get the chance, couchsurf in Arcata, CA. Most of my references are from the beautiful people of that town. Almost everyone I met was artistic and inspiring...always willing to share something (a song, a bottle of homebrewed kombucha, dumpster diving treasure, a walk in the woods, etc)But in 2011 I went on a wild EuroCS trip: Spain, Switzerland, France, England, Scotland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Malta, Italy, Germany and Ireland and I closed out my 2011 CS'ing in Chile!

Interests

Any kind of excursion, recycling, learning any new language I can, riding motorcycles, taking photos, the outdoors, the indoors, learning how to become a better cook, all nite conversations, working on old cars and houses with my father, playing with animals, HelpX'ing , etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a horse give birth, not showered for longer than I'd like to admit, eaten for weeks on salvaged and scavenged food and been temporarily paralyzed but my favorite thing was when I saw a nun break up a fight between two "gangsta" types in Oakland, CA.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I mentioned before, I'm a bit of a "Jane of all trades". I like to fix stuff and pI've a bit of OCD so if you need a room cleaned, I'm your girl...seriously, cleaning is so cathartic for me!

I have also been told I am a wonderful storyteller so if you get bored, I can usually make you laugh. ; )

If you'd like, I'm a great English teacher so feel free to Skype me anytime!
