About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be happy

ABOUT ME

I was born and grew up in China until the age of 20. I came to the US 7 years ago to pursue a Ph.D. degree at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. After graduated in summer 2006, I moved to Chicago for my current job in a national lab. I have really enjoyed living in Chicago so far except the very long and depressing winter. I haven't traveled much but I hope to do more in the future. I am going to Europe for the first time in my life this May and I am looking forward to meeting many of you then! And please do drop me an E-mail when you visit Chicago:)
Personality wise, I am easygoing and open-minded. Although it may take some warming up, I love talking to interesting people and learning about their lives. I am passionate and tend to get obsessed with my hobbies easily (maybe too easily sometimes). Overall, I am an optimist and believe in the best of human nature.

PHILOSOPHY

how do I live my life: I am a problem-solver. if there is a problem, I will do my best to solve it.
Why do I live my life: to love and to be loved.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will love to host people and/or meet for coffee and drinks. I also want to meet people when i travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

still a newbie without experience...

Interests

cooking, photography, painting, decorating, art, gardening, reading, movies..
As a scientific researcher, I have a very logical mind but I also enjoy expressing my creativities in more spontaneous and less logical ways such as painting and photography.
I have a passion for cooking and culinary art. I believe that Chinese cuisine is significantly under represented in the US and the rest of world. So one of my dreams is to open a "true" Chinese restaurant to show how profoundly wonderful Chinese cuisine is. Beside the love for Chinese cuisine, I also enjoy many other cuisines such as Italian and Mexican. I will love to visit Italy some day.
