About Me

CURRENT MISSION

'Awake butterfly, its late, we've miles to go, together' Basho

ABOUT ME

Reflective, unassuming and thoughtful, helping others to realise their dreams, hoping to encounter my own at the same time. I feel like a child taking my first steps again, and relearning everything I thought I already knew, trying to find a new place in this big world and see what doors I can open.

I can seem quiet at times, I prefer the above word reflective though, I like to think before speaking, I love to listen to others speaking. Honesty and self realisation are important to me, but also it is sometimes difficult to know for sure you are being honest to yourself.

I am on the move looking to see some beautiful places and their connected people, find communities where I can learn and offer the meagre things I can, such as sharing fantastic meals, philosophising, putting the world to rights, talking about music and art, hopefully playing my instruments again, standing on one leg...I am happiest if slightly off balance!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you do, but do it quietly and tolerantly.

A line I read in 'The Dharma Bums' by Kerouac always comes back to me...excuse me if I do not quote exactly...
'when you reach the top of the mountain, keep going.'
This is something I say to myself often...Im not sure I have even found my mountain, there are so many of them...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As yet I am exploring possibilities. I look forward to sharing skills, friendship, kindness and seeing what I can do to participate in this inspiring project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been away from CS for a while...BUT I'M BACK... have surfed in Austria and Glasgow, and have met CS people in London and Berlin also. I have been blown away by the openess of the people I have met, the willingness to give people a go, even if at first there seems to be little common ground, except for belonging to this organisation. It has given me hope that the world truly has wonders to offer, if we only open our hearts to strangers.

Interests

Music, listening and playing, nearly all music has merit in its time and place, as long as it is played with spirit and belief.
Writing.
Practicing cartwheels.
