ABOUT ME

Abel
I am living in downtown Montreal since 4 years. I'm here to study mechanical engineering. I'd like to meet new people on CS, I'm now living in an apartment too small to accommodate but I'm always ready for a coffee/drink in Montreal or (maybe more!) for an adventure day outside the city. I love biking in and out of Montreal, I travelled a lot in the east of north America to go to bike races.

Being the girlfriend of the guy above, I spend part of my time downtown Montreal too! I am a fan of hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, skiing...So for any outdoor sports, I am always disponible (except if I have an exam the day after...:P) I am currently living in Switzerland, for an Xchange semester, so I know quite a lot about european countries and their habitants! And because I am coming back quite soon, I would REALLY like to have Europe (or anywhere else) coming to meet me!

I strongly believe that you can achieve whatever project popping into your head, if you put enough energy and will into it...I am really open minded with people I know I can trust and are true to me, and I also believe that exchanging with friends is the best possible boost for mutual motivation one can have. And overall, in a simple way: If its fun, I just do it!

Hmmm for the moment, none, but we plan to couchsurf this summer in Europe!

Interests

Abel
My principals interest concerns sports and engineering. My principal transport vehicle is my bike, I'm using it all year long (-20 in Montreal during winter, this is not a urban legend!) to go to school or to work. During summer I like to go for a long ride or even a race with my friends. I also like adventure activities like hicking or climbing and some winter sports to keep me in good shape such as cross country ski or snowshoeing. The rest of the time, I'm a good cook (ask my grilfriend to make sure) and I like to have a dinner where we take to time to talk about nothing and everything.

If you want to get me interested in something, it has to be original, active and, preferably, outside. I am an inconditionate lover of hiking and cycling, and also skiing, telemarking, snowshoeing...These sports are wonderful, as well as the beer/coffee/hot chocolate that goes along after the day! I really enjoy meeting new people, especially when they are open minded and have something crazy to share about their country, life experiences or just the day's adventure! I also have a passion for Energy, I am currently studying in Energy production systems, which means i know how the fuelcells, solar pannels and wind turbines work...Don't worry i won't get into details :P Still, I can really describe myself as a girl wanting to try everything...From spicy food to canyoning!

Music, Movies, and Books

Since my outdoor passion occupies my weekends, I dont have too much time left to watch movies...But I have a special crush on québec movies, because they are authentic (and funny) to me...AND I am addicted to disney/pixar animation movies, they are really my soul healers!!
For the books, I especially like Bernard Werber...Those who read the books will probably agree that they are amazingly realistic despite their fantastic stories...

I like the music and movies from Québec, they represent the way we live here and in most cases our political situation. With my studies I don't have a lot of time to read other books than those for school.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For the moment, deciding to leave the country for a semester to study abroad, without really knowing what it involved!! And from there, of course there is a lot of amazing things I have done...Like...Going to watch the Euro 2008 football match between Netherlands and France in Bern, with 150 000 Oranje supporters dressed in orange and drinking Carlsberg...Or skiing in 1m of fresh powder in Kitzbuhel in Austria...Or learning tandem biking...Or hiking with snow up to the knees in june...
