Travelling to New Zealand on a working holiday visa

ABOUT ME

Noémie: My boyfriend David and me are experimenting a new way of travelling. We are going to New Zealand on a working holiday visa. I also travelled to Europe during my studies and I went to the Dominican Republic with a group of people working for the local community. In the summer 2008, I travelled for the first time to Alberta and British Columbia. I also worked at the BCFFC (British Columbia Family French Camp).

Of course, I also want to know all about you! I love listening to people's stories.

David: I spent my first 9 years in Georgia before my family immigrated to Canada. Since then, the only traveling that I have done was with my Water-polo team. I used to play a lot but I hurt my shoulder so I had to stop. I always wanted to travel, but never really got the chance. I

Noémie: I love outdoor activities. I usually run and swim a lot. This year, I've been playing water-polo and river kayaking a lot. I also love dancing. Nothing formal, only moving to the sound of music, although I like swing dancing. I would also like to learn a fourth language and improve my spanish skills.

David : I love doing all kinds of sports: water-polo, badminton, volley-ball, hockey, etc. I also like to have complicated discussions about philosophy, science, religion etc. I am not an artist in any way, but I love art in all it

Music, Movies, and Books

Noémie: I've been moved by the book "Life of Pie" from Yann Martel. I also loved the series of books "Les Malaussène" by Daniel Pennac. I loved everything I read from Amélie Nothomb and Alexandre Jardin. I listen to all sorts of music, from classical to popular.

David: I have been influenced by Carl sagan, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins and Noam Chomsky. I have been impressed by Boris Vian and Gore Vidal. I have been toched by Italo Calvino and Michel tremblay. I grew up with Jules Vernes, Alexendre Dumas, Moris Druon and Guy de Maupassant.

As for the movies, I love all kind's of things. Here are a few examples that could give an idea: Big Lebovsky, Baraka, Amelie Poulain, Thx 1138, Gost in the Shell.

Noémie: J'ai été très touchée par le livre "Life of Pie" de Yann Martel. J'ai aussi adoré la série des Malaussène de Daniel Pennac. J'ai aimé tout ce que j'ai lu de Amélie Nothomb et Alexandre Jardin. J'écoute toutes sortes de musiques, du classique au populaire.

Noémie: My native language is French and I would love to teach it. I can also read music since I played the piano.

Noémie: Ma langue maternelle est le français et il me ferait plaisir de l'enseigner. Je peux aussi lire la musique puisque j'ai suivi des cours de piano.
