About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go with the wind... if the wind is blowing in a good direction...

ABOUT ME

I'm Irish, living in London. I work mostly in developing digital public services, and less of the time on a schools development project in Haiti. Love travelling, music, philosophy, salsa, and sailing & surfing when I get the chance. Hate summarising my character in a box...
Soy de Irlanda, viviendo en Londres. Trabajo en servicios digitales y soy la directora de la ONG, Thinking Development, que hace reconstrucción urbana después del terremoto de 2010 en Haití. He viajado por Suramerica (Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Chile y Uruguay) y me encantó!

PHILOSOPHY

Try to avoid self-branding in little boxes where possible. Like most modern phenomena, it has a good function, but should not be taken too far!!!
Try to figure out what is right. Try to do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The usual: I occassionally host people...It's always been a great decision... Or I meet people for walks or tea...
And when I go travelling I get in touch with people, something that has always given me a much richer travel experience, and introduced me to some more great people.
I'm always recruiting people to this site...I love CS and the thinking behind it, getting to know different people for the sake of getting to know them... This isn't a dating site nor is it for profit!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Positive positive positive.... except those funny emails from people who seem to be wife-hunting! :D

Interests

Lots of things... Sustainability, figuring things out, what's good, what's bad. I love dining and good chocolate. I love my family - Irish, English, American and Colombian arms. I love to travel and try to get to grips with different languages and places and cultures. I like seeing things for myself. I love the sea, sailing, trying to surf...It's best when the water's warm, but I'll take what I can get. Camping :D... I love dancing. Musicing is great - particularly traditional Irish style. Did a degree in it...not so into the latest in indie-rocky stuff.. I like classical stuff, traditional music from home and lots of other places too... Once a Shaman told me I was an Inca in my last life... I think he was full of it. I do like the mountains though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living with nuns in Haiti soon after the 2010 disaster was pretty insightful. I'm not particularly religious, but gained a lot of respect from observing how they worked.

Teach, Learn, Share

On couchsurfing, I like to meet people who are interested in meeting people for people, not for profit or other ulterior motives. It's also interesting to meet people who have similar interests, or people who are different to me.
