To help our children become independent (almost there) and valued members of the community who are happy and fulfilled. To remain healthy, happy and positive.

ABOUT ME

I am a Learning Support teacher and a Family Relationships and Adolescent Counsellor. Jon does some teaching and also works as a builder. Between us we have 6 children: 4 boys and 2 girls, 28, 27, 26, and three 23 year olds. The "kids" have now all left home and are either travelling, studying or working. Travel highlights for us have been backpacking in Thailand with 4 of our kids in '03, exploring six European countries, England and then a short time in The States including New York, Pennsylvania and Hawaii in '06, Bali '07, Fiji '09 and Canada for a month in '10 - planning a trip back to UK, Spain and France in 2012. Come to Tasmania, Australia - we would love to show you some of our favourite places.

PHILOSOPHY

The power of a smile cannot be underestimated. To go through life giving,with a positive outlook has an enormous effect on others. Strong communication including active listening plays a big part in our lives too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have couchsurfed in New York and Calgary - both fantastic stays thanks to Jason and Maria! We have hosted approximately 130 visitors, most from overseas and just a few from the mainland of Australia! We are finding this a really rewarding thing to do, we are learning a lot and have thoroughly enjoyed every visitor. On our trip to Canada we have been fortunate to stay with couchsurfers who have stayed with us both in Taipei and Saskatchewan. Thanks Ellison, Belle, Megan and Brin!

兴趣

We enjoy our teaching, counselling and building and when not at work we like swimming, walking, kayaking, campervaning, reading, cooking, entertaining. We have demolished a house at Opossum Bay and have been building a new home over the past year.
