COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Favorite trips: China Dec. 2009! My Shenzhen CSing Karaoke experience with good people from China, Israel, Canada and US.... Thailand and Istanbul

Originally tried Hospitality Club in France with my daughter. That went really well. Joined Couchsurfing. Have Surfed in Houston,Chicago, Tampa, Cleveland,Tucson, Shenzen and hosted in ATL. Have had great experiences all over! I'll definitely keep Surfing.

Interests

Covered above, but could add planting trees, building the never-ending-treehouse, riding motorcycles, learning and reading as well as teaching my little person languages. Curious people who aspire do do some good in this world beyond satisfying their own personal indulgences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Before Sunset and Before Sunrise (Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy) Camus (La Chute); Kundera (Unbearable Lightness of Being); Rober Fulghum (anything) Beyond Borders, The Constant Gardener, Downton Abbey (mini series), was addicted to 24 with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) when it was still on TV. Pure adrenaline rush!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fatherhood - watching your little person evolve and change so rapidly...

Europe 1989 - Eurailing, Hosteling and watching the Events unfold in Budapest, Yugoslavia and eastern Europe in the months before the Fall of the Berlin Wall. It was innocence and dramatic change all churning at once. Some great things were on the cusp of happening and some nightmares not yet imagined. Camping out on a cargo wagon night-train from Budapest to Sarajevo by way of Belgrade.... Water, grapes and vanilla waffle cookies. Then, at dawn, dancing to in that open cargo door that wouldn't shut to Milli-Vanilli with the cassette recorder held tightly against my ear... and sharing the music with other nocturnal travelers who also decided to dance. A spectacular sunset on Mount Trebevic and then washing shiny read apples in a small Sarajevo fountain somewhere along the descent...
