CURRENT MISSION
Survive the Farmer's Market!
ABOUT ME
We're very laid back. We love meeting new folks and sharing our lifestyle with them. I own a small catering business, Wild Indigo, that specializes in local, organic and seasonal fare. We sell at our local Farmer's Market from April to Decemeber. Mike grows as much as he can to supplement the catering business with herbs, ornamental and edible flowers, greens, hops, veggies and more. Mike currently works as a grounds keeper @ Sierra Nevada Brewing. We thoroughly enjoy cooking delicious meals at home, but also really love eating at all the amazing restaurants Western NC has to offer. Brevard is a little musical mecca with some amazing opportunities to hear great bands. That's one of the many, many reasons we live here!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that life is too short, so never take it for granted! And ALWAYS love and appreciate your friends!!!!!
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While we don't get to travel as much as we'd love too...we do love to host CSFR's whenever we can!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While we haven't actually surfed, we have hosted for years. We love meeting new folks from all walks of life and creating friendships with them.
Centres d'intérêt
In learning as much as we can about most everything. We LOVE cooking and enjoy hosting lots of dinner parties for everyone on a regular basis. Music! Especially if it's live! All genres. Meeting new people and establishing lasting friendships. As well as learning about other cultures, traveling, climbing(not too much these days), kayaking at the beach when we have the chance or on the French Broad river, hiking, Mike loves gardening and jam bands. We're growing oyster and shiitake mushrooms.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Koyaniquatsi, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Songcatcher, Sideways, Napoleon Dynamite, The Wall(Pink Floyd), The Motorcycle Diaries, David Lynch movies, foreign films and any good flicks that make you laugh and think. We love music...old time, bluegrass, funky jazz, you name it, I'm pretty diverse. The Biscuit Burners, The Waybacks, Karsh Kale, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Norah Jones, Taj Mahal, Modest Mouse, The White Stripes, Gram Parsons, Be Good Tanyas, Gillian Welch, Phish, The Disco Biscuits, Tea Leaf Green, The Brian Mcgee Band, just to name a few. Old vinyl has always been around, mostly Willie Nelson, The Beatles, John Hartford, some random 80's bands and other obscure artists. And we live in the mecca for awesome local and live music, be it bluegrass, old time, jazz, or funk. This part of the state produces some pretty amazing music! Reading is another passion. The Da Vinci Code, Kitchen Confidentials, Cold Mountain, and Blue Like Jazz. Barbara Kingsolver, Tom Robbins and Carlos Castenada are some great authors. My lastest favorite, The Time Travelers Wife. And gardening and cookbooks, lots of 'em!
