About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live a full and passionate life and to leave this world all tattered and spent!
ABOUT ME
I went to school for a degree in Business, not because the subject interested me, but because by the time I decided on my next step in life, such a degree was the quickest means to the desired end (if that's not the epitome of Business!) However, I was never good in my marketing classes, and it apears to me this is the "selling yourself" section of this virtual resume. With that in mind, please be forgiving.
Whenever the idea of meeting someone through the internet comes up, I worry, "is this person going to be normal?" Of course, what does that even mean? My mother once asked me, "Do you friends think you're strange, or do they consider you normal?" This of question made it very clear where my mother's judgement lies. However, I failed to come up with an accurate answer for her as I had never really thought about the question. So I asked one of my good friends what they thought. "Honey," he replied, "you're the normal that keeps the rest of us grounded!" Does that say more about me or about my friends?
What have you learned about me? That I'm long winded and still can't give a direct answer to the "Tell me about yourself" question!
PHILOSOPHY
"What is your personal philosophy?" Wow. That's a surprisingly deep question for my computer to be asking me. Such questions are better discussed over a good glass of Pinot Noir, but I suppose this sweaty cyber cafe will have to suffice.
My perspective on life is a constant battle between realism and optimism. I choose to believe the best in people and that all people are good at heart. I try not to make judgements based on the opinions of others, as we all have different experiences, and it's easy to catch a person on a bad day. Though lord knows I'm not perfect and I too can have my bad day. I have committed my life to serving others and for advocating for the marginalized populations of our society, be it local or global. The gods have given us this amazing gift of life and a beautiful world in which to live it. It seems shameful to disrespect that gift by hurting our brothers and sisters and by destroying our environment; or by living a sad and desperate life in which one constantly blames others for their problems. I truly believe life can be exactly what you want it to be. You just have to work for it. And if things are getting difficult, suck it up and work through it!

Interests
Of course there's the standard interests that everyone lists: books, music, dance, etc, etc, etc. Deep down my heart lies is in advocating for those marginalized populations who don't have the strength or resources to carry their own loud voice. Someone has to fight for them. It might as well be me!
