ABOUT ME

I'm a theatre director - I studied languages originally, so I speak French and Russian. I've lived most of my life in London, but I've spent a year in Russia, five months in Brussels doing an internship at the European Commission, and done some travelling to the USA, Norway, Eastern Europe, mainly. I'm hoping to get to Brazil soon.

I love theatre - and the arts - fine art, music and films. I also take a big interest in current affairs, I think it's important to know what's going on in the world. I play capoeira - that's my main hobby - I'm pretty addicted to it and some of my best friends are the people I play capoeira with....

PHILOSOPHY

I believe each person is responsible for their own life - that you can make your own luck. Nothing replaces hard work but there's nothing quite as nice as time off...

I don't have my own place yet - I rented for years and I will be buying a place in London soon which will give me a couch I can lend out to eager travellers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

Master and Margarita by Bulgakov is my favourite novel. Music: jazz - Coltrane (still the best), Tom Jobim (Aguad dd) - for Latino music, folk/pop - plenty including Bob Dylan and Eric Prydz (at quite different ends of the spectrum), classical - Mussorgsky and Brahms... Films: Festen, The Lives of Others, U Me and Everyone We Know...
