About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Emigrate to Silicon Valley by 2016
ABOUT ME
I'm an average person blessed with a comparatively fortunate deal in life.
Others have described me as a rational, humourous and pragmatic sort of person. I am a born ideas man and engineer: I love nothing more than being part of realising a cool idea..
This September (2013)I am due to start my new job teaching Design and Engineering to pupils 11-18 at a school in the beautiful university city of Oxford. (I will again host other travellers from there when I can..)
PHILOSOPHY
Like everyone else, I am primarily motivated by bettering my lot, but in a way that benefits others too: win/win.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a couple of people through similar websites, and stayed with friends abroad. (France, Canada, Italy).
Hosted a number of very likeable travellers during the 2012 Olympics in London. I have only had good experiences Couchsurfing. I think as long as you are a bit thoughtful about who you select and if both parties communicate well and are flexible, it will go well.
Interests
I have a lot of ideas for innovating my subject at school (Design and Engineering). I am slowly making headway towards realising these ideas, for example currently making a laser cut mini pinball project for my pupils..
I could be described as typically 'male' in many of my interests; machines, building stuff.. teasing friends and family for entertainment. (Dont worry; I get more than my fair share of equally entertaining ridicule in response!)
I've seen some very interesting places in Europe, but my favourite destination is the USA. I will next visit California in Summer 2013..

- partying

Music, Movies, and Books
Not a massive movie nut...but like most comedies, adventure and sci-fi stuff.
Music: am going to be bland here and say too many types to list.
Books: generally go for factual stuff: adventure, autobiographies, natural world, humour or spoofs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not sure I've done anything amazing. Been lucky enough to see a lot of change and variety in my 'career' and life so far. Hugely looking forward to seeing America and its people again..
