ABOUT ME

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and might have a couch or even a room for you to surf depending on what's going on. If you are LGBTQ, if you were forced to leave home due to religious issues my home is open to you: please reach out! I love to travel and entertain: going out to party or staying in for drinks, board games and great conversations. I greatly enjoy meeting people, learning new things and teaching what I know. I'm fairly opinionated and extremely open. I love riding, driving, swimming, skiing, snowboarding and I am a world-class cook.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm interested in hosting people from all around the world and entertaining guests for longer than just one night. A far better experience is had by all involved when you stay for days, not hours. If I'm not too busy I'll be happy to pick you up at the airport/train/bus station, show you around, provide a comfortable and secure place to sleep, possibly even a great meal as well... please be kind and willing to contribute to the spirit of Couchsurfing: it is one of the coolest things out there and I am genuinely committed to doing what I can to help it thrive..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly in the USA, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Czechia. I've met people who needed a place and provided them with one and when I've been underway I've often been blessed by the kindness of strangers.

Musical tastes run the gamut from jazz to funk, indigenous folk music through pre-1982 country, new wave, psychedelic rock, classic rock, punk rock, sludge, ambient, progressive trance, electronica, low-fi deep house, synth-wave, progressive house, rave music, most EDM in general, darude sandstorm, some rap and metal.

Basically I enjoy anything other than top-40, modern country, mumble rap, shit like that. Then again, I do have a very real thing for Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears so...

I've recently been reading Labor of Love by Moira Weigel, Collpse by Jared Diamond, One Man's Wilderness by Proenneke and Never Split the Difference by Voss and Raz. Otherwise I've most likely been reading something about cars, negotiation, psychology or woodworking.

I've experienced meter-thick ice cracking under my feet as the lake upon which I was standing expanded due to sub-40 degree temperatures. It made the most awesome, wonderful and harrowing sound I have ever heard

I have a unique ability to fix things quickly and properly: bikes, motorbikes, cars, etc. I'm keenly interested in passing on everything I've learned in life to the people I meet: that is how I'm making the world a better place.
