One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnessing ungrounded generosity and grace is always amazing as it deliberately fights natural selfishness. One of those moments at its prime was hosting a date auction as part of a fund raiser for a Zimbabwean orphanage. I watched not even two-hundred "poor college students" throw money around the room in support of their friends' bids and ultimately for the children to raise nearly $7,000 in two hours. In several weeks our small campus and community raised almost $40,000 and incredible awareness.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm coming to realize that power struggles and their consequent outcomes for either bettering or worsening humanity are simply a battle of time. If I can pour enough energy, talent and work into bettering someone's life it can counter-balance the dictator, abusive relative or poor socio-economic situation that person is dealing with. That places infinite value on every seemingly unimportant moment of our lives, even preparation periods like school, waiting, and searching.
