ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from the University of Kansas and I am now living in Lyon, France, teaching English to French teenagers in Saint-Etienne, and barring disaster, will be doing so until May. Unfortunately, I live in a tiny studio (25 square meters!) with my girlfriend, and so cannot host couch surfers, but I plan to do quite a bit of traveling, and couchsurfing, during my vacations.

Movies: Wes Anderson films, films that slowly build tension, films that meander, films that take their time, films with great car chases, Broken Flowers, '70s films, films that are so bad that they're good.

Music: Pavement, Jens Lekman, Belle and Sebastian, David Berman, Brian Eno, My Bloody Valentine, Velvet Underground, Liars, Luna, Animal Collective, The Smiths, um, etc. New wave, post-punk, synth-pop, college rock, shoegaze, glam, prog. My music tastes don't stray far from the rock/pop/folk realm, but they are always expanding within that area. I'm always looking for new songs, bands, and albums to enjoy.
