To see the whole world one country at a time. To meet as many people as humanly possible, and to have a beer with every one of them!

ABOUT ME

We are a married vegan couple, living in Melbourne's beautiful Dandenong Mountain Range. We are both animal lovers/activists and we share our home with two insane dogs and various resident native birds and furry critters that come to visit. We are very laid back, fun people who love nothing more than laughing and having a beer with our friends (old and new). We are both environmentally and socially concerned and active, but with a positive outlook on life and a sense of humour. We are both emergency services volunteers and active members in our local (awesome) community of Emerald.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have plenty of room to offer, and enough spare time to show people around. We love the idea of making new friends, and helping people to discover this beautiful place that we live in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted many people now, and are consistently amazed by the wonderful and fascinating people that keep turning up on our doorstep. Apart from hosting a large number of surfers over the years, we have also couch surfed in New Zealand, Fiji, France, Italy and the USA.

Rhys loves reading non-fiction (all topics) and history, watching documentaries and horror movies and listening to hip-hop, trip-hop, electronica and metal.

Penny loves reading fantasy novels, watching action and comedy movies and listening to all kinds of rock and pop.

We are both huge fans of quality TV series (Peaky Blinders, OZ, Deadwood, Justified etc.)

Penny knows all the best places to visit in our mountain range. She can also can teach vegan cooking and loves to learn cooking styles from all over the world.

Rhys is largely useless, but he will usually be up to take you out SCUBA diving or hiking or to go exploring the local wildlife and forests. He will also show you the best pubs in the area and introduce you to the wonders of Australian beer!
