ABOUT ME

Somewhere between studying and adventuring in the earlier Aughties and now, I slipped into the comfortable pattern of city/apartment life: working, socializing, lunching, sleeping, and not doing much dreaming. Perhaps all of us who grew up among cynical gen-x woes are bound to encounter the inevitability of "settling," but any rate, I am preparing to un-settle for a while. Before heading off to travel again, I'd like to hear some other travelers' thoughts about where they're going and why.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a new CS member with a couch made for surfing. I'd like to make new connections and provide some hosting opportunities before I go forth traveling, perhaps accepting the hospitality of other hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A family put me up for a week in the south of Brazil. Their cottage was decorated like a welder's studio: corrugated steel walls, murals painted on all surfaces, vines climbing the bookshelves, design zines scattered on the table. They had 6 children, but in minutes, I felt part of the family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a night dive in the Great Barrier Reef, a bunch of five-foot long wrasses joined me on my dive and kept circling, using my light to hunt for food. It was like swimming with a posse of benevolent sharks.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sailing in Vancouver during the summer is a must. And I can share a guitar trick or two.
