About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life as an experiment

ABOUT ME

Hi there. I am an outgoing Irish woman from Dublin but had been living in London for 7 years since I escaped the confines of Ireland back in 2000. I have now escaped to the south of Spain and I am loving it! I travelled by myself around the world for a year and a half and met the most amazing people. I have my own business so can work anywhere in Europe at the moment and hope to extend this to being location independent, at least for part of year, by the end of 2010 by developing some web businesses. Would like to flexible in location so I can follow my heart and experience all the amazing peoples and places that the world has to offer : )

UPDATE: I am now back living in London! Have a great flat in Shoreditch (the coolest part) so everyone can come visit me ...

PHILOSOPHY

"It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of someone else's life with perfection." ~ from the Bhagava.I have recently come to the conclusion that there is more to working 9 to 5 to buy more and more stuff until one day you die ... consumerism bores me ... I am trying to live a freer life where I can have enough income to get by and just enjoy life. Life is short and I want to grasp it with both hands!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate as much as possible - I was active in the CS group in Malaga when I lived in Spain and try to spread the gospel of CS to whomever I meet!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Really, really positive so far! I have surfed, hosted and met up with folks from all over and I can say that CSs are cool people - everyone I have met through the site has been awesome and I think it is a great way to get to know people and hopefully make some life long friends ... Best experiences include my first ever CS party in Malaga (went for 2 drinks and stayed until 10am the next day); hosting my own CS pool and beach party with Steffi in Nerja; and meeting some great folks in Gothenburg

Interests

Dancing (classes and clubs), drinking, yoga, hiking, reading, movies, drinking, eating, talking with friends ... drinking, want to learn to surf - tried it in Oz and loved it. Boats, water, outdoors, fresh air, mountains, beach ...

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:The Four Hour Work Week, How to Live Off Grid, How to be Free, Affluenza, Eat Pray Love
Music: eclectic but generally like dance (duff, duff) and pop(ish) music. Like rock too in the vein of The Killers, Kings of Leon, Guns n Roses etc.
Movies: love them all ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess making two big changes in my life so far and never looking back - a solo round the world trip and move to London and now a move to Spain for a different pace of life ...

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm - hard one ... maybe some thoughts on a different appraoch to life that I am trying. Lots of ideas around building a business and income that can sustain you and release you from the 9 to 5. And just for fun - how to do tequila body shots ... (oh the memories)
